Collinear

Points are said to be collinear if they lie on the same straight line.

In the diagram, points, A, B and C are collinear as they lie on the same straight line.

Points A, B, C are collinear as they lie on the same straight line. In this lesson, we'll look at how to show that points are collinear using the vector method.

In order to show that A, B and C are collinear via the vector method, do these:

  • Select 2 different combination of 2 points, find the vector, and show that they are parallel
  • Indicate the common point of the 2 vectors
